a page from inside the 'nameless volume gold'

This was taken in error from the book in the library by Sari G-R. She made amends though by sending through this picture.
The letter from Benoit Hellier
Mr Grandison discovered this in the book amongst his grandfather's possessions, together with a covering note from Dupin sent in 1850-something. The note explained that B.H. was Benoit Hellier, a servant to William Moray, who always wore a golden mask. Hellier wrote the note to warn off Dupin, but as to the rest to which he refers, Dupin does not elucidate.

A letter from Dupin to Rupert Grandison Senior
Mr Grandison discovered this letter hidden within the leaves of a book in a box of his grandfather's effects. He swears that he had previously looked through this book assiduously and the letter was then not there...

The lines of cipher

These are lines of cipher which appear to have been written by Moray and discovered by Dupin, who sent them to Grandison Senior, Mr Grandison's grandfather. The first is written in the same cipher as used by Captain Kidd and deciphers to:
I AM ALWAYS ONE STEP AHEAD OF YOU GRANDISON
Not just a taunt, but also a clue to the lines following - these were ciphered using the same cipher rotated one step on from the original. They decipher to:
